Shavuot (Jewish)

The festival ofShavuotcelebrates the giving ofTorah(Hebrew Bible) including the Ten Commandments at Mount Sinai. It also marks the end of the spring harvest, and the beginning of the summer harvest.Shavuotis celebrated by studyingTorahtogether as a community, often late into the night. It is traditional to eat meals containing dairy. Barley and wheat are also food symbols of Shavuot.
